Five generations
Den Helder Stores originated in 1919 when Aafje Bakker- van der Beldt started selling food stuffs from her home. In 1939 her son John became involved in the business and took the company forward. John married Katie and the eldest of their four kids Ab, also worked for the company. At the end of the 70’s Ab took over the running of the business and expanded by supplying shipping companies in the port of Den Helder. Ab passed away unexpectedly in 2002 while he was on holiday in Spain.
Den Helder Stores has always been a family business with successive generations taking the company forward. Daughter Jacqueline (fourth generation) and her husband Ed Jansen are managing the company now in their very own way. While their son Kenny also now made his entry into the company. From it's early start as a simple food store , the company has evolved into an all round supplier of goods to the maritime sector at the port of Den Helder and many other ports throughout the Netherlands
In 2009 the company re-located to theindustrial area at “Kooypunt” in Den Helder and a newpurpose depot was built. This gives Den Helder Stores the ability to offer improved logistics and a wide range of products. By taking this step forward Den Helder Stores is building on its future as a reliable and versatile partner in the maritime/ offshore industry.
We, Den Helder Stores, realize very well that service, quality and reliability are the most important attributes for our clients. This is shown by the appreciation and loyalty of the clients we have been working with for years and hopefully many years to come.
